Breakdown shots
Shot 3
Base System, We used the animation from Maya as an alembic file. These points are fed into a particle system, and we use the original mesh as a collision surface. We also use the original body animation as a magnet force so we can both repel and attract the particles.
Second System, There are two systems, and we use the last frame from the first system to input into a second particle system. This is where we blow the particles off with particle wind.
Import Alembic file to Cinema 4D to make the final shot.
Shot 1
Export the character animation as a FBX file from Mixamo, and import to Cinema 4D.
Shot 2
Add the object ID to the main butterfly in order to export EXR sequence with Multi-Pass for the final compositing.
Import EXR sequence to Aftereffects to do the compositing, transition, color correction, light effects, etc.
